The Easy Standup Solution

On Tuesday you considered why your standup meetings aren't working AND you read about an easy to implement solution.

Here is some follow-up, an approach to consider as you reset your team behavior and move forward together to fast and effective standups.

### **Your Reset Plan**

**Week 1:** Introduce the framework. Explain the three questions and the time boundary. "We're doing this to stay coordinated without eating up your deep work time."

**Weeks 2-4:** Keep it tight. Use a visible timer. Gently interrupt long-winded answers. Consistency matters more than perfection.

**In Four Weeks (or less):** You'll see blockers surface faster, people will protect focus time more carefully, and accountability will naturally increase.

### **What You'll Notice After Two Weeks**

- Blockers surface immediately instead of festering for days

- People stop treating meetings as the enemy and protect focus time more strategically

- Accountability increases naturally (people are clear about what they committed to)

- Team cohesion improves (daily coordinated touchpoint)

- Your job becomes easier (predictable channel for staying synchronized)

### **Your Quick Reference**

Keep this handy:

**Three Questions:**

- What did I complete yesterday?

- What am I focusing on today?

- What's blocking me?

**Ground Rules:**

- 5 minutes max (use a timer)

- No problem-solving in standup

- Everyone listens for dependencies

- Blockers are never criticized, always solved

- Same order, every day

You've got this! 'See' you next month!
