The Wisdom of Impermanence

Greetings!

I hope that 2026 finds you. This is not meant to be an incomplete wish - I hope that the year finds you and I encourage you to fill-in-the-blank as to exactly how the year finds you, or how you find the year. We start with how things are.

I look forward to continuing this journey with you. This journey of life and death, of love and loss, and of grief and joy.

In the past, I have shared episodes of the Death Dhamma podcast with you, and I have shared books and articles that I have written too.

The podcast was created as a way to publish some interviews I conducted with Buddhist teachers to discuss how they first encountered death and grief. The reason? To process my own experiences. To understand my own grief. I remember thinking,"What is this like for others?" And even more specifically, "What is this like for other Buddhists, and do Buddhist spiritual teachers have the magic no suffering wand?"

Those interviews turned into Sitting with Death: Buddhist Insights to Help You Face Your Fears and Live a Peaceful Life. And then things kept progressing, more podcast episodes, more writing, and thankfully you joined my community.

Now, there is the podcast, our community, and a collection of books:

It is time to integrate the podcast and the writing and Buddhist teachings. The Wisdom of Impermanence is meant to do just that. Phew, took a minute, but I got to the point. Thank you for sticking with me.

What you see today, at the top of the page is the new Wisdom of Impermanence logo.

Together we will continue to explore topics such as death and grief. We will also consider other Buddhist teachings and how they relate. Or perhaps, I should say because they do relate.

Buddhism shows us The Four Noble Truths and The Noble Eightfold Path, teachings to guide our lives and help us become free from suffering. Accepting impermanence is a crucial part of our spiritual growth.

To become comfortable with impermanence is to live with more peace, to live with ease. How you live defines how you die.

For now, I leave you with the trailer introducing The Wisdom of Impermanence podcast.

May you be well and happy, at ease, and free from suffering.
